Despite my protestations of innocence and identity theft these delusional detectives believed I must be a criminal as I was previously married to an oriental lady (not Russian) with whom I am still good friends.
After 6 months of stress and worry the matter was "no further actioned" and my property returned with the computer not in too good shape.
During this time I still had to pay my internet contract so I complained via my solicitor. They denied doing anything to the computer (I cannot prove anything) but have at least accepted they could have returned it "2 or 3 months earlier" and have offered a small amount of money to cover part of the 6 months fees on a "no liability" basis.
I am minded to accept this as I think it is the closest I will get to an apology. If I try to fight them further they might think I am hiding Bin Laden in my wheelie bin.
So I hope you all take great care of your ID or you may find yourselves in serious trouble.
